Back in March 2021, Pass the Keys teamed up with local business entrepreneurs Mark Pennino and Jamie Smith to provide expertise and support in South Pembrokeshire. Six months down the line, and business is booming for the pair, who are looking to expand across the county. We sat down with the pair to find out why they are so passionate about this area of West Wales and its growing holiday let industry.
Hi Mark & Jamie, can you tell us a bit about yourselves and your experience prior to coming on-board with Pass the Keys?
Mark: I have always had a passion for property and managed my own property portfolio in South West Wales for a number of years. This led me to discover Pass The Keys, initially as a customer, so I have experienced first hand what a valuable service Pass The Keys offer to clients. This is why I am so excited about being able to bring this service to the Pembrokeshire area! I have many years experience in business management and sales, working for some of largest companies in the world and also running my own businesses.
Jamie: I’m Jamie, I have lived in Pembrokeshire most of my life. My career has been centred around retail and home design, managing in a fast paced and ever changing environment. My passion has always been that the customer experience is second-to-none, you feel well looked after and supported throughout your buying journey, in a personable and friendly way. I am excited to bring my knowledge and skills to this new venture.
Why do you think short-term lets are a lucrative market in Pembrokeshire?
Mark: The UK holiday let market is predicted to benefit from the uncertainty that foreign travel brings in 2021. I think the cautious holidaymaker is likely to book their holiday closer to home. As this trend for “staycations” increases, the demand for short term lets will skyrocket, as people opt to stay in safe, cost effective private accommodation; particularly those who want to spend time with family and friends.
